Can anyone tell me some best online book clubs providing such membership benefits?
indiaplaza.in has a bookclub offer in which you purchase a membership for Rs.500.00 and you get a free book worth Rs.500.00 and 25% discount on all book purchases. The membership is valid for one year. indiatimes.com also has a book club offer where you pay Rs.500.00 and get 3 books free and 25% discount on all books. However you have to select your gift from a group of books chosen by them. Also, indiaplaza has a better selection. But i believe indiatimes give you a better service.
I’ve been checking out B&N’s online book clubs and so far I like it, but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to post my own question. So I was hoping to find a website that is great for people that like to discuss books or post questions about books. Even something that includes writers would be great. Thanks!
I’m a member of Library Thing.
It’s pretty cool. Just put in the ISBNs to make your library. Then you can see how many other people have the books you do, people’s opinions on them and discussions about them. It’s kinda cool to see who has books in your collection, just to see if they have something that might be good that you don’t have.
There are general discussions and groups to join which is what I think you’re looking for.
I use it to keep track of my books mostly. I have a whole online list of what I have complete with pictures of the covers and author info, publishing info and lots of cool things.
Hi there, I’m looking for a good online book club or book swap. I excitedly signed up and listed all my books on "paperbackswap.com" only to find out it’s strictly for US residents only! Grrrr…..Are there any good ones mainly for Canadians? It doesn’t have to be strictly for Canadians because I would love to swap with US residents as well. Please help by listing any of the ones you know or have heard of. Thank you in advance. ![]()
You might investigate Bookcrossing.com. Although they are not strictly a swap site, individuals might swap with you. Look through the message boards and check out the profiles…it’s a great site!
I love to read! I can finish a 500 page book in a day. I recently moved to Arizona, is there a way to find a book club?
Is there such a thing as an online book club?
Let’s start one! I love books too!!!!
What’s your favorite book?
What genre do you like?
lol.
Sorry, I’m a bookaholic.
I practice bookaholicism, meaning I feed my bookaholicness with more books.
I don’t think those are words actually.
I’m going to look up the real words. Hang on…
Shelfari has that option. It’s a site where you can list all your books for free; you can also post reviews of books that you’ve read and ask questions about them as well. Besides listing all your books you can also join discussion groups based on genres of books and individual books themselves. If you don’t see a discussion group on a book you like then you can create your own. It’s a fun site to join and browse on (you can invite people you know to be your "friends" there and also see who has read the same books that you have). Here’s a link to the site: http://shelfari.com/
Happy reading to you!
I’ve been looking for an online book group but haven’t had much luck. Would anyone be interested in starting something from scratch?
Ellie. xx
Thanks for the response guys. I’m looking into the wix.com site just now. I wasn’t thinking of anything fancy. Just a forum sort of idea? I was thinking everyone could choose books?
I had a look online for groups earlier. They all have a huge number of members and I was more looking for small group who actually discussed things?
Ok guys, I’ve set up a page. It looks a little shabby at the moment, but I guess it doesn’t matter too much.
Check it out.
Cheers! xxx

it’s pretty basic. you go to wix.com or weebly.com or webs.com and make a webpage. they give you all the starting materials, and it’s absolutely free.
Once you’re finished the webpage, add it in additional details. i’ll check in every few days to see your progress, when the book club’s started i’ll join. i’ve always wanted to be part of a book group too.
I’m an enthusiatic reader, huge fan of fantasy book and for some time i’ve harboured a wish to write my own fantasy novel which indeed i’ve been planning out. However i’m only 15 and i know at this stage if i wrote a book it would turn out badly so what i’d like to do is keep my plan for later and learn how to write better in a friendly online enviroment with other enthusiastic readers and writers alike to help guide me a little.
Thank you!
u should try calling all dragons Patricia Wrede series they are really good…
i usually do not enjoy books but these r good im a lil bit older so u might like um…
I’m looking for one of those "5 books for $1.00 plus s&h" book club deals where you have to buy so many books within the next 1-2 years. The problem is that I can only find book clubs that offer hardcover books and I don’t want hardcover, I want softcover. Does anyone know of any? I searched all over google and have had no luck.
you could try www.paperbackswap.com all that costs is posting your swaps
…that aren’t themed- just general? I searched google, and it came up with a few like the Literary Guild and the like, but none of them suited me. I just want a place where I can go and discuss books with no strings attached, and with no elitist tendencies as I know some book clubs can have.
Try Yahoo groups. There is one called Bookcrazy or try The Book Club Queen some are listed there.
